AJK Govt proposes Rs. 25b for development sector

Muzaffarabad (Agencies): The AJK Government has proposed 25 billion rupees (PKR) for the development sector in the next financial year.

According to details, Elaborating salient features of the budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 at post budget conference in Muzaffarabad, Finance minister Dr Najeeb Naqi said focus has been given on ongoing projects for which 71 % out of the total development outlay allocated while 29 per cent for new 201 projects.

The Minister said 41 percent of the development budget have been allocated for communication, 14 percent for power sector, 9 per cent physical planning and housing, 8 per cent for local government, 8 5 for education, 3 5 for health and 17 for other sectors other sectors.

Over 10 billion rupees would be spent of construction of roads and bridges to interconnect districts and districts with tehsils. Mansehra Muzaffarabad Mangla Express Way under CPEC will be completed at a cost of 142 billion rupees.

He said 130 million rupees have been set aside for providing basic facilities at LoC adjoining areas. Compensation to the victims of Indian firing is additional to this amount.
