COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,084 new cases, 74 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 900,552 on Sunday after 3,084 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Pakistan’s total recoveries from the coronavirus have risen to 817,681 after 3,826 more people recovered.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has urged masses to follow safe tourism policy as restrictions ease on tourism from Monday.

The forum asked public to strictly adhere to health guidelines and safety protocols to curb coronavirus spread.

Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines’ special flight PK 6853 airlifted another batch of two million doses of Sinovac vaccine from the Capital International Airport Beijing to Islamabad on Sunday.

PIA Country Manager for China said a special flight PK 6852 had also transported a consignment of one million doses of Sinovac vaccine last Sunday.

The Chinese authorities have pledged to continue uninterrupted supply of vaccine to help Pakistan defeat the ongoing wave of deadly virus.

Pakistan has so far received over 13 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines comprising of Sinopharm, Sinovac and CanSino procured from China including others through COVAX programme.
