COVID-19: Pakistan reports 736 new infections, 13 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 309,646 on Friday after another 510 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 326,216 after 736 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 142,917 cases were reported in Sindh, 102,253 in Punjab, 38,886 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,767 in Balochistan, 18,578 in Islamabad, 4,127 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 3,688 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,715 with 13 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday sounded the alarm over the average positivity ratio registering 40% higher over the last four days than what was being recorded earlier.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 41 million and death toll tops 1.1 million.
