Wajid Zia assumes charge as Pakistan Railways Police chief

Lahore (Staff Report): Wajid Zia, a grade 21 officer, on Monday took charge as Inspector General of Pakistan Railways Police.

Zia, who headed the Panama JIT formed on the orders of Supreme Court to probe the financial dealings of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members, was earlier serving as Additional Director of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

DIG Operations Shariq Jamal Khan briefed Zia on the railway operations.
