COVID-19: Pakistan reports 189 new cases, 4 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,523,590  on Saturday after 189 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 30,417 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 0.62%.

Overall 574,549 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 504,765 in Punjab, 218,860 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,468 in Balochistan, 135,016 in Islamabad, 11,693 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and K 43,239 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 30,340 with 4 new fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,485,085 after another 451 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, China has reported 1,335 confirmed coronavirus cases, the country's national health authority said, compared with 1,366 a day earlier.

Of the new cases, 1,280 were locally transmitted, the National Health Commission said, versus 1,301 a day earlier.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 480,055 million and death toll tops 6,143,218.
