Punjab’s former governor, CM decides to quit PML-N

Lahore (Staff Report): Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, a senior politician from southern Punjab has decided to leave the embattled Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).

Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, who had served as Punjab governor, along with his son Dost Muhammed Khosa, who also served as the Chief Minister Punjab will announce their defection to the recently formed South Punjab Alliance in a press conference soon.

According to sources, ex-MPA’s Maqsood Laghari and Muhammed Khan Laghari will also join the alliance in days to come, according to media reports.

As many as eight legislators of the ruling party had announced their decisions to leave the party to advocate the cause of South Punjab and demand a new province.

The deserted legislators claimed that South Punjab was being ignored, demanding – in one breath – that a new province was their ultimate objective.
