Verdict on pleas to halt ruling in Musharraf’s treason case reserved

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved its verdict on petitions requesting to set aside the special court's decision to announce its judgement in the high treason case against Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

The former president and law ministry had filed the pleas to halt ruling against Musharraf in treason case.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah and comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani conducted proceedings on the petitions.

The trial court had reserved verdict of high treason case against former president and military ruler retired General Pervez Musharraf that is scheduled to be announced on November 28.

The court had also remarked that Musharraf’s lawyers can submit their written arguments regarding the case till November 26.
