Islamabad (Staff Report): The Accountability court charge sheeted Fiance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday, in a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him for possessing assets that exceed his known sources of income.
According to details, the court has file charges against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and demanded his to resign from his post however, he rejected the allegation, adding that he will defend the allegation in the court and prove his innocence.
Judge Mohammad Bashir resumed the hearing and read the points of accusations in the court .
Around the federal judicial complex strict security measures were made, while entry of media persons, lawyers and other parties, want to attend the hearing of their respective cases, was banned.
A huge crowd gathered at the gate as the police closed the main door of the complex. Dar also faced hardship while entering the premises.
Later, finance minister was decided to move in the court from the other way and the security officials moved the vehicle towards rear gate of the complex.
On September 25, the court provided a copy of the reference, comprising 23 volumes to the respondent.
Amjad Pervaiz, counsel for Dar to adjourn hearing for seven day so that he could review the reference, but the request was turned down and September 27 announced as next date of hearing.
Earlier, the accountability court had issued arrest warrants for the minister on September 20, after he failed to appear before the court to attend the hearing.
Ishaq Dar is facing Section-14C of the NAB Ordinance 1999, which deals with possession of assets beyond his known sources of income. If Dar is proven guilty, he would be handed over 14-year imprisonment.
