Female student killed in Rawalpindi Metro bus accident

Rawalpindi (Staff Report): A female student was killed after she fell from a speeding bus near Rehman Abad Metro Bus Station in Rawalpindi when driver rammed the vehicle with a roadside pole Friday morning.

According to details, the bus that was en route to Islamabad rammed with a roadside pole as driver applied emergency brake to control the fast-moving vehicle that caused the bus door to swing open. Subsequently, the girl, identified as 19-year-old medical student at Shifa College of Medicine & Nursing, Sumera, fell out of the bus and came under the wheels of the same vehicle.

Sadiqabad police reached the site and shifted Sameera's body to the district headquarters hospital.

Police stated that the driver fled the site, while investigation was under way to ascertain the actual cause of the accident.
