Islamabad (Staff Report): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday that Indian PM Narindra Modi said was destroying world's peace through perpetrating genocide of the innocent people of Occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a function, Firdous Awan said Modi has promoted hatred in the region by committing injustices and atrocities on the Kashmiri people.
She people will come out of their houses, work places, and educational institutions at 12 noon on Friday and stand for three minutes to express solidarity and unity with their Kashmiri brethren.
On August 5, India abolished Article 370 that granted special status to occupied Kashmir. The Modi government sent in an unprecedented number of Indian troops to the disputed valley, imposed a curfew and placed Kashmiri politicians under house arrest.
The move has been condemned internationally and by opposition leaders in India.
On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated Pakistan’s support for Kashmiris, promising to fight till last breath.
In his address to the nation, PM Khan urged the nation to stand by the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) till the day India frees the disputed valley of its draconian rule.
