COVID-19: Pakistan reports 291 new cases, 3 deaths in last 24 hours 

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,294,031 on Tuesday after 291 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 480,901 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 444,670 in Punjab, 181,247 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 33,625 in Balochistan, 108,502 in Islamabad, 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,657 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 41,869 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 0.69%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,912 with 3 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,255,204 after another 229 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has received 15 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines December, which were funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The ADB Pakistan chapter on its official twitter handle said that the bank's $500 million assistance is helping the country to procure about 75 million vaccine doses, safety boxes and syringes to vaccinate over 35 million people.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 281.911 million and death toll tops 5,423,520.
