Peshawar High Court judge, driver critically injured in gun attack

Peshawar (Staff Report): Peshawar High Court judge Justice Muhammad Ayub and his driver were critically wounded as unidentified armed men attack opened fire at a vehicle in Hayatabad, Peshawar, on Thursday.

According to the police, attackers on a motorcycle targeted Justice Ayub Khan’s car in Hayatabad’s Phase 5. The attackers fired at least 10 to 15 times at the car with a pistol and a sub-machine gun.

Hayatabad ASP Najmul Hassan told the media that Justice Ayub Marwat and his employee, Muhammad Gul, were heading towards the PHC when they were intercepted

The injured judge and his driver have been shifted to a hospital, where he is listed in a critical condition, police said. However, the attackers managed to flee from the scene after the attack.

Justice Mohammad Ayub Khan took the reins of the Peshawar High Court in 2017. Justice Ayub also served as judge of accountability court in Peshawar.
