Maryam Nawaz tests positive for COVID-19, says PML-N spokesperson

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has tested positive for the coronavirus, party's spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter, Aurangzeb said that the PML-N leader quarantined herself after the test result.
The information secretary also asked people to pray for the early recovery of Covid-19 patients, including Maryam.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz, while responding to a tweet, said that she had flu, cough and fever and was being treated at home.

Maryam had recently led the party's election campaign for the July 25 polls in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,015,827 on Wednesday after 4,119 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 52,291 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 7.8%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 23,133 with 39 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 935,742 after another 7,020 virus recoveries were reported.
