PM claims to have evidence in writing that foreign powers conspiring to topple govt

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that the he had written proof that “foreign-funded conspiracy” hatched to topple his government through a no-confidence motion tabled by the country’s joint opposition over his refusal to have Pakistan’s foreign policy be influenced from abroad.

“Attempts are being made through foreign money to change the government in Pakistan. Our people are being used. Mostly inadvertently, but some people are using money against us. We know from what places attempts are being to pressure us. We have been threatened in writing but we will not compromise on national interest,” the premier while addressing a party’s power show titled “Amr Bil Maroof” event at Parade Ground in Islamabad on Sunday.

“The nation wants to know who the man sitting in London is meeting with and whose directions the characters based in Pakistan are following? The premier said and added, “I am revealing the proofs we have. I cannot talk more in detail because I have to protect the interest of my country. I cannot talk about anything that harms my country. I could have told you about it. I do not fear anyone but I care about Pakistan’s interest.”

PM Imran said he will not compromise on supremacy of law to put the powerful under the ambit of law that is why no NRO will be given to corrupt.

The PM said corrupt elements have been plundering the national wealth for thirty years and now they are trying to blackmail him by moving a no-confidence motion against him. The Prime Minister said the government introduced universal health coverage, allocated massive funds under Ehsas Programme, and provided interest-free easy loans to youth under Kamyab Jawan Programme.

Imran Khan said with the growth in tax collection, the government gave a subsidy of 2.5 billion rupees, reducing the prices of petrol, diesel and electricity.
