COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,045 new infections, 45 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 392,356 on Saturday after 3,045 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall, 170,206 cases were reported in Sindh, 117,898 in Punjab, 46,604 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,046 in Balochistan, 29,427 in Islamabad, 4,619 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 6,556 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 7,942 with 45 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 337,553 after another 1,672 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Sindh government has changed the timing of business activities in the markets, shops, and other business centers across the province to contain the second wave of Covid-19.

Provinvial Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said the business activities will take place from 8:00am to 8:00 pm.

He said these business activities would be suspended for one day in a week.

Nasir Hussain Shah said that the decision of the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) would be implemented at any cost to prevent further spread of Coronavirus.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 61.5 million and death toll tops 1.441 million.
