Pak-India to meet on Kartarpur Corridor on August 30, confirms FO

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal on Thursday confirmed that India had concurred to Pakistan’s proposal of holding next technical meeting on Kartarpur Corridor on August 30.

During weekly press briefing, Dr Faisal said despite the current tense situation with India, Pakistan would continue the process of opening of Kartarpur Corridor.

“Pakistan remains committed to complete and inaugurate its side of the Kartarpur Corridor as planned and announced by the prime minister,” he said.

Speaking about current situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir, Dr Faisal said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has a letter to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding the situation in occupied Kashmir. “The foreign office website is giving timely updates on the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir,” he added.

“The Indian hypocrisy is at an all-time high. Kashmir is not an internal matter but has now become an international issue,” Dr Faisal maintained. “The Kashmir issue should be solved keeping in mind the UNSC resolutions,” the spokesman said.
