Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has announced opening of walk-in vaccinations for citizens aged 30 and above and teachers over 18 from today (Saturday).
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, announced the development on Friday.
In his message on Twitter, the minister urged all the citizens who are 30 or older and registered for COVID-19 vaccination to go to any center and get vaccinated.

More than 5 million people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus infection in Pakistan so far, according to Asad Umar.
He encouraged the public to get themselves registered for vaccination at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the NCOC, to ensure safe environment for education and conduct of exams, announced to open walk-in vaccination for teachers above 18 years of age.
In a message on Twitter, the NCOC wrote, “Teachers can walk-in to any vaccination center with CNIC, stamped letter from head of Institution / Teachers’ ID Card, and get themselves vaccinated.”

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 916,239 on Saturday after 2,455 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
As per the NCOC data, 55,442 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 4.42%.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 20,680 with 73 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 836,702 after another 2,136 virus recoveries were reported.
