Met office predicts widespread rain-thunderstorm from today

Karachi (Staff Report): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the most parts of the country will receive widespread rain with thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rain with thunderstorm is predicted in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions), Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir over the next 12 to 24 hours.

Scattered rain is also expected in Bannu, D.I. Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, and in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Naseerabad, Sibbi divisions).

Snowfall over the hills is expected in Malakand division (Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malam Jabba and Upper Dir), Hazara division, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

During last 24 hours, lowest temperatures were recorded in Skardu -19°C, Astore -16°C, Bagrote, Kalam, Gupis -12°C, Hunza -06°C, Parachinar -05°C, Dir, Malam Jabba -04°C, Drosh, Rawalakot -03°C, Mirkhani, Kakul -02°C, Gilgit, Kamra, Chitral, Bunji -01°C.
