Islamabad (Web Desk): President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have expressed their grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Rawalpindi aircraft crash, the Radio Pakistan reported.
In a statement, President Arif Alvi condoled with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of those injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan Qureshi, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and many others also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the incident.
They prayed for the high reward of the martyrs and courage for the bereaved families to bear this loss with fortitude.
At least 17 people, including five military personnel, lost their lives when a plane of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Mora Kalu in Rawalpindi on Tuesday morning.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crashed in a populated area, causing 12 civilians casualties while 12 others were injured.
Lt Col Saqib, Lt Col Wasim, Naib Subedar Afzal, Hawaldar Amin and Hawaldar Rahmat were among the martyred, the military’s media wing added.
Soon after the crash, a massive fire broke out that engulfed several houses in the locality.
Rescue teams of Pakistan Army and 1122 reached the site immediately and started the rescue operation.
“Rescue officials had extinguished the fire caused by the crash and moved the injured to hospitals in Rawalpindi,” the ISPR added.
