Riyadh (Web Desk): A ballistic missile launched by Yemeni rebels towards the Saudi city of Jazan in the wee hours of Friday, however, Saudi Royal Air Defence Forces have successfully intercepted attack, international relations reported.
The official spokesman of the coalition forces in Yemen, Colonel Turki Al Malki disclosed that at 9.35pm on Thursday, the missile, launched from the Yemeni governorate of Saada, a Houthi stronghold, deliberately targeted densely-populated areas in the southern city of Jazan.
“It was another evidence of the involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the armed Houthi militias with qualitative capabilities, to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the regional and international security,” Mr Al Malki claimed.
He concluded that the launching ballistic missiles towards populated areas are considered a blatant breach of the international humanitarian law, and it may harm the regional peace.
