Wasim Akram denies rumours of joining PTI

Lahore (Staff Report): Renowned greatest Pakistani bowler and Captain of cricket team, Wasim Akram has denied the news of his joining in political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the sources reported.

According to details, Wasim Akram confirmed that he has not joined any political party, but is supporting his cricket mentor Imran Khan, chairman of political party PTI.

During an interview with Gulf New Akram told, “I do support Imran Bhai (brother) but I haven’t joined any political party.”

Akram had said, “Imran was instrumental for my success. But for him, I wouldn’t have known how to bowl to some of the best batsmen in the world. It was he who told me the strong points and weaknesses of some of the top batsmen. I have always listened to his advice very carefully.”

Wasim also said that he supports Khan’s Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC). Meanwhile, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Foundation Limited (SKMCFL) is registered with the Australian Charities & Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC).

Akram signed off by saying, “I will be flying to Australia in April with regard to Imran’s hospital launch. Since Imran will be busy with politics he had asked to me if I would be free to go there.”

It is pertinent to remember that earlier, there were the reports that Wasim is joining legendary Pakistan cricketer Imran’s party PTI but now Akram cleared all rumors.
