Rawalpindi (Staff Report): Three people, including a soldier, were killed and four others injured by heavy shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian troops in Rawalakot, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to Army’s media wing, the Indian border guards targeted the civil population on the Pakistani side of the LoC with heavy guns. As a result of the shelling, two civilians, including a woman, were killed while one person sustained injuries.

A Pakistan Army patrol, which had come to assist in the evacuation of people along the danger zone, also came under the Indian fire and Naib Subedar Nadeem also embraced martyrdom, while three of his colleagues got injured.

The Pakistan Army troops replied to the aggression with a befitting response. They fired back at the Indian Army posts which had engaged the country’s unarmed civil population. There were reports of casualties on the Indian side as well, the ISPR added.
