COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,742 new cases, 39 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,245,127 on Thursday after 1,742 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 457,458 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 431,092 in Punjab, 173,796 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 32,916 in Balochistan, 105,417 in Islamabad 10,321 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,127 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 52,635 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 3.30%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 27,729 with 39 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,169,566 after another 2,377 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has achieved another milestone of administering more than 80 million Covid-19 doses. According to official statistics as of September 29, over 50 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

The number of fully vaccinated individuals has surpassed 20.7 million mark.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 234.094 million and death toll tops 4,788,726.
