COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,838 new cases, 118 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,160,119 on Tuesday after 3,838 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 431,636 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 393,136 in Punjab, 161,853 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32,230 in Balochistan, 99,263 in Islamabad 9,906 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 32,095 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 52,112 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 7.36%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 25,788 with 118 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,039,758 after another 2,837 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Ministry of National Health Services, in a post on Twitter, said that over 1.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on August 30.

This is the highest single-day vaccine administration done across the country.

The total number of vaccine doses administered so far in the country is 55.1 million.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 217.932 million and death toll tops 4,524,211.
