Soldier martyred in exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): A soldier of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while gallantly fighting during a fire exchange between the terrorists and security forces in general area Mir Ali of North Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the military's media wing stated on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army troops fought bravely and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.

The martyred soldier was identified as Sepoy Irshad Ullah (age 29 years, resident of District Karak), having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat during intense exchange of fire.

The sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.

"Pakistan’s Security Forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the ISPR said.

Separately, a terrorist was killed and two others were injured in an exchange of fire with security forces during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in in the general area of Noshman in Balochistan's Sibi, the military's media wing stated.

The military’s media wing stated that the terrorists were suspected of targeting civilians and harassing coal mine owners.

The statement said that the security forces had set up “multiple ambushes” along the way in the area that was used by the terrorists frequently. As a result, three terrorists were intercepted and on being blocked they opened fire on the security forces.

"During ensuing heavy exchange of fire, one terrorist has been killed while two others have been injured, a cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered,' the ISPR said.
