COVID-19: Pakistan reports 807 new infections, 11 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 314,066 on Saturday after another 539 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 332,993 after 807 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 145,475 cases were reported in Sindh, 104,016 in Punjab, 39,458 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,896 in Balochistan, 19,818 in Islamabad, 4,248 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 4,082 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,806 with 11fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Saturday urged the nation to report violation of Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

“With arrival of the 2nd wave & continued widescale violation of sop's, NCOC has decided to seek citizens help for sop compliance. Wherever you see violations taking place..Mask wearing in crowded places, social distancing.. Take a pic & send to 0335 3336262 alongwith location,” the minister tweeted.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 44.8 million and death toll tops 1.17 million.
