OIC Secretary General offers condolences to Pakistan on train fire incident

Jeddah (Web Desk):Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has expressed condolences to the government and people of the Pakistan on the tragedy of fire that broke out in Tezgam train.

In a statement, the OIC Secretary General also offered condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery of the injured.

Meanwhile, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz have also condoled over the tragic incident.

In their separate messages to President Dr. Arif Alvi, they prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy on the deceased, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

At least 74 people including women and children were killed on Thursday when three bogies of a Tezgam train caught fire near Liaqatpur city on Thursday morning.

The train was bound from Karachi to Rawalpindi. The fire was caused by a cylinder blast that occurred in the morning when passengers were preparing their breakfast.

The fire destroyed three of the train’s carriages, including two economy class carriages and one business class.
