Karachi (Staff Report): The Sindh Cabinet has approved removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja from his post.
The cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah approved surrendering the services of the IGP to the federal government.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of Additional IG Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as the provincial police chief.
Earlier this week, the Sindh High Court had suspended a notification issued by the Sindh government for the removal of the IGP. The SHC had suspended Dasti's 'promotion' as acting IGP as well.
