Lahore (Staff Report): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was discharged from Lahore’s Services Hospital and moved to his residence at Jati Umra in an ambulance on Wednesday.
The former premier was under treatment at the Services Hospital for last 16 days.
Nawaz was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, however he refused to be moved to Raiwind at the eleventh hour because his daughter Maryam had not been released from the prison despite the submission of surety bonds and passport to the court.
Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz was also released on bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case after confirming her surety bonds.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday granted bail to the ML-N’ vice president in the CSM case against two surety bonds, each worth Rs10 million.
Maryam Nawaz also arrived at the Services hospital and accompanied her father to Jati Umra.
Nurses and doctors from the Sharif Medical City also arrived at the Services hospital, where head of Sharif's medical Professor Dr Mehmood Ayaz gave the medical file and reports of the former premier to the doctors of the Sharif Medical City.
Meanwhile, PML-N Spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb stated that Nawaz Sharif will not be treated at Sharif Medical Complex and will be treated at his residence at Jati Umra where an ICU unit has been established under the supervision of the former premier’s personal physician Dr Adnan Malik.
The PML-N supremo was taken to Services hospital last month after his health deteriorated.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) granted bail to the former PM in an investigation launched by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted an eight-week suspension of his seven-year sentence awarded by accountability court in the Al-Azizia corruption reference.
