PM directs to fully activate, operationalise Covid-19 Tigers Force

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to fully activate and operationalise Covid-19 Tigers Force at district, tehsil and union council-level across the country.

While chairing a high-level meeting here on Tuesday to review matters pertaining to Covid-19 Tigers Force, PM Khan said every possible effort will be made to safeguard and protect vulnerable segments of the society.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan on Tuesday rose to 32,674.

At least 11,869 cases reported in Punjab, 12,017 in Sindh, 4,875 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,061 in Balochistan, 457 in Gilgit Baltistan, 716 in Islamabad, and 86 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the National Command and Control Centre, the death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 726, while at least 8,555 patients have fully recovered.

The number of coronavirus cases has continued to soar despite the country remained under a lockdown about 45 days.

However, small markets and shops in the country reopen on Monday after the government relax coronavirus lockdown, allowing the businesses to open from 8am in the morning till 5pm in the evening.
