NAB summons Shehbaz’s wife, daughters in assets-beyond-means case

Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned family members of Shehbaz Sharif to question them in connection with a case related to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President’s alleged assets beyond known sources of income.

The NAB summoned Shehbaz's wife and two daughters.

On Saturday, a team of the anti-graft body visited the residence of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif's daughter in Model Town area of the city and served a notice summoning them on April 16.

Shehbaz's wife has been summoned on April 17 while his daughter Rabia Sharif has been summoned on April 18 and Javeria Sharif has been summoned on April 19.

According to sources, the NAB has also written a letter to the Ministry of Interior requesting it to put names of four female members of the Sharif family on the Exit Control List (ECL).

On Monday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday accepted Opposition Leader in the the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz’ bail for cases pertaining to ownership of assets beyond means and money laundering till April 17 after ordering him to submit surety bonds of Rs10 million.

A two-judge bench, comprising Justice Malik Shahzad and Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf, heard the plea of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader.

The bench also barred the anti-corruption watchdog from arresting the PML-N leader till further orders.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) carried out two successive raids on Friday and Saturday at PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif's Model Town residence to arrest his son Hamza.
