KSA keen to invest heavily in Pakistan, Saudi Crown Prince tells Imran

Islamabad (Staff Report): Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and prime minister in-waiting Imran Khan on his party's victory in election 2018.

According to a statement issued by PTI on Tuesday, the Saudi Crown Prince, during a telephone conversation with Imran Khan, also expressed wish for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

Mohammed bin Salman said as Pakistan has vast trade and economic opportunities, his country is keen to make investment in Pakistan and strengthen the bilateral trade relations.

Imran Khan mentioned the effective anti-corruption drive run in Saudi Arabia under the supervision of Crown Prince and said as true and effective governance is possible only through the elimination of corruption.

Imran Khan expressed thanks to the Crown Prince for the congratulation, reasserting keenness to improve bilateral relations in all domains.

Earlier on August 12, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also telephone Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and congratulated him on his party’s recent electoral victory, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Saudi ambassador in Islamabad was the first envoy to call on Imran Khan after last month’s general elections. Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki praised the PTI chief’s victory speech in which he had offered to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Malki also said the Saudi Crown Prince intended to visit Pakistan soon in a bid to strengthen bilateral relations.
