PM Imran greets nation on Eid, urges to remember deprived segments of society

Islamabad (Staff Report) Prime Minister Imran Khan felicitated the whole nation on Eid-ul-Azha.

In his congratulatory message, the PM urged the nation not to forget those who are deprived in this hour of happiness.

Imran Khan prayed to Allah almighty to accept our sacrifices and prayers. He said sacrifice aims at submitting oneself before will of Allah.

The PM said sacrifice is a universal devotion without which no nation can progress. On this occasion, Prime Minister Khan urged to remember the sacrifices made for protection, reconstruction and development of Pakistan.

Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated with great religious fervor and solemnity across the country today (Wednesday).

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for well-being of Muslim Ummah and safety and security of the country. Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country. 

Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th day of Zil-Hajj, which is the last month of the Islamic calendar and marks the start of the Hajj pilgrimage. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to God.

More than two million Muslims from around the globe performed Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
