Dera Ismail Khan (Web Desk): At least two people were killed and two others were injured when unknown assailants opened fire on a security check post in Daraban Kalan tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan.
According to details, the unknown gunmen opened fire on the security check post in Daraban Kalan area, 60 kilometres from Dera Ismail Khan.
The police personnel deployed at the post returned the fire, forcing the attackers to flee.
Security forces cordoned off the area following the attack and launched a search operation to track down the gunmen.
As per police, the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital in DI Khan. The deceased have been identified as the employees of a restaurant and petrol station.
Daraban Kalan is a congested area and a junction that links Khyber Pakhtunkwa with Balochistan, South Waziristan and Punjab.
