Pakistan's COVID-19 recovery rate rises to 94.4%

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 276,829 on Monday after another 993 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

As per latest statistics, 94.4% of patients have recovered and there are now 10,188 active coronavirus cases in the country.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 293,261 after 496 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 128,284 cases were reported in Sindh, 96,233 in Punjab, 35,766 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,527 in Balochistan, 15,515 in Islamabad, 2,682 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,254 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,244 with 9 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, a foreign news agency reported that India crossed the 3 million cases milestone on Sunday, 17 days after it crossed the 2 million mark.

It is the worst-affected country in Asia, and third behind Brazil and the United States globally.

India reported 61,408 infections in the last 24 hours, taking its total caseload past 3.1 million, the data from India’s federal health ministry showed.

The number of deaths in the last 24 hours was 836, taking the total to 57,542.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 23.50 million and death toll tops 808,000.
