COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,800 new cases, 66 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,156,281 on Monday after 3,800 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 428,254 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 388,296 in Punjab, 160,088 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32,111 in Balochistan, 98,339 in Islamabad 9,835 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 31,649 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 56,279 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.75%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 25,670 with 66 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,036,921 after another 3,548 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions in Sindh have reopened from today (Monday).
According to a notification issued by Sindh Education, Literacy and Colleges Education Department, the educational institutions will remain open for six days a week with 50% attendance of students on alternate days.

All heads of educational institutions have been directed to ensure 100% vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 217.220 million and death toll tops 4,515,192.
