FM Qureshi briefs Sri Lankan counterpart on ‘human rights violation’ in IoK

Colombo (Agencies): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday briefed his Sri Lankan counterpart Dinesh Gunawardena on the dire situation and human rights violation in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

According to Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal, Qureshi told the Sri Lankan foreign minister that the 100-day plus lockdown remains a “cause of serious concern” for the international community.

“FM also briefed his Sri Lankan counterpart on the dire situation & human rights crisis in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the 100 day plus lockdown remained a cause of serious concern for the international community,” Dr Faisal said in a tweet.

“Both the countries very keen to further deepen and strengthen the entire gamut of bilateral relations,” he added.

Qureshi, arrived in Colombo on Sunday, to extend a formal invitation to the newly-elected Sri Lankan president to visit Pakistan on behalf of President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
