Angelina Jolie voices support for Palestinians after Jabalia refugee camp attack

New York (Web Desk): Prominent American actress Angelina Jolie has slammed Israel for its “deliberate bombing of a trapped population who have nowhere to flee.”,

 In her new Instagram post, the former special ambassador for United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), shows her support for Palestine and criticized international community on their silence over Israeli airstrikes on Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza two days ago, which killed and injured hundreds of Palestinian civilians. 

The Academy Award winner Hollywood star posted a strong-worded message on Instagram, and shared picture of a residential civilian square in Jabalia that was completely wiped out by Israeli warplanes.

“Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave. 40 percent of those killed are innocent children. Whole families are being murdered,” Jolie, wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

Since October 7, nearly 8,800 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza.

“While the world watches and with the active support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women, families – are being collectively punished and dehumanized, all while being deprived [of] food, medicine and humanitarian aid against international law,” she added.

She concluded her post saying “By refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and blocking the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties, world leaders are complicit in these crimes.”

It is pertinent to mention that Angelina Jolie has dedicated decades of her life to helping charitable causes across the world. She dedicated over 20 years of service to UNHCR, the UN refugee agency. She served as a Goodwill Ambassador from 2001 – 2012 and then as Special Envoy from 2012 – 2022.
