Saudi foreign minister to visit Pakistan on Wednesday

Islamabad (Agencies): Saudi Arabia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on a one-day visit on Wednesday [tomorrow].

The minister will hold meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss matters related to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s bilateral ties and regional developments will be discussed.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a phone call on Tuesday discussed the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.

According to the Arab media reports, PM Imran apprised Saudi crown prince about the current situation in occupied Kashmir.

This was the third phone call between the prime minister and the Saudi crown prince in three weeks.

On August 5, India abolished Article 370 that granted special status to occupied Kashmir. The Modi government sent in an unprecedented number of Indian troops to the disputed valley, imposed a curfew and placed Kashmiri politicians under house arrest.

The move has been condemned internationally and by opposition leaders in India.
