Hyderabad: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's Cricket World cup is ready to begin with first match of the tournament between previous world cup finalist England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmadabad, India.

The 10 best teams in the world will compete for the trophy, matches will be played across ten venues from October 5th to November 19th. The 10 teams of the event will play against each other out of which the 4 teams that secure the initial positions will make it to the semi-finals, to be played in Mumbai on 14 November and in Kolkata on 16 November.
There are six day matches which will start at 10:30 am of Indian standard time (IST) while all other matches, including the knockouts, will be day-night fixtures starting at 2 pm IST.

The most awaited match between arch rivals India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad on 15 October. While its first match is on October 5, Thursday (tomorrow).

It should be noted that the Indian media claims that there is a threat of terrorism during the matches of the ICC World Cup in the Indian city of Ahmadabad. According to Indian media, more than 3,000 police personnel will be deployed in and around the Ahmadabad Stadium, while it has been decided to keep the road leading to the stadium completely closed during the matches. Nothing will be allowed to be brought inside during the match except mobile phones.
Pakistan team is visiting India for the first time in seven years. The team received visas two days before their first warm-up game, and security concerns over their upcoming clash with India rescheduling nine matches.
"I think the way people are responding towards our team, everyone enjoyed it. We are a week in Hyderabad so it is not like we are in India, it is like we are home," said Pakistani captain Babar Azam on his first trip to the country.
