Islamabad (Web Desk): District and Sessions Court in Islamabad extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi till September 12.

Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided the hearing of  the case.

Bushra Bibi appeared in the court along with her lawyers Salman Safdar, Intizar Panjotha and Naeem Panjotha.

During the hearing, the investigation officer (IO) also appeared in the court and requested the judge to allow the arrest of former first lady. He informed the court that Bushra Bibi's audio had already been sent for the forensic.

On the other hand, Defendant’s lawyer complained to the court that investigators summoned his client and made her sit for hours. “My client has already told them that the audio in question was not hers,” he added.

The judge remarked when the case was related to fake receipts, the matter of audio recording should not be discussed. “Work this case according to the FIR”, Sessions Court Judge said.

The IO requested the court to grant more time for Bushra’s voice matching with the audio.

At this, the court extended Bushra Bibi's interim bail and adjourned the hearing till September 12.

It is worthy to mention that the former first lady has been accused of keeping gold, a locket, chain, earrings, two rings and bracelet from the Toshakhana gifts.

The NAB had maintained that the gifts were not submitted to the Toshakhana to calculate their prices.
