PM, Armed Forces pay tribute to Major Tufail on his 65th martyrdom anniversary

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and services chiefs paid glowing tribute to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 65th martyrdom anniversary.

Major Tufail Muhammad, the second recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly at Lakshmipur sector in East Pakistan in 1958.

PM Shehbaz stated that Major Tufail Shaheed created an immortal story of protecting the motherland and fulfilling his duty with courage and bravery.

He said Major Tufail Shaheed did not even care about his life for the safety of the country.

"The entire Pakistani nation pays homage to Major Tufail Shaheed for his sacrifice," PM Shehbaz said adding that the nation will never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs.

Meanwhile, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a news release said that Major Tufail Muhammad’s martyrdom anniversary serves as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the Armed Forces of Pakistan to defend the motherland.

“Let us remember these heroes who have laid down their lives in defence of our motherland. The nation is proud of its gallant sons,” the ISPR said.
