Manchester (Agencies): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan will submit strong evidences at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on February 19 in Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav case.
Speaking at a reception, Qureshi said that the country’s legal team will present its stance in the case of Jadhav’s conviction. The Indian spy had already confessed to being involved in terrorist activities carried out in Pakistan, he added.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed the hope that Pakistan will win the case against Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav in the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Talking to media, he said that Pakistan has solid evidence against Kulbhushan Jadhav.
Qureshi said that Pakistan will present its point of view in the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav in an effective manner. He expressed the hope that Pakistan will get justice in this case.
FM Qureshi’s comments come a day after the ICJ fixed February 2019 for hearing the case of the convicted Indian spy.
Kulbhushan Jadhav, an on-duty Indian navy officer working for Indian covert agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), was arrested on March 3, 2016, from Balochistan, after he entered into Pakistan from Iran.
He was tried in a military court which sentenced him to death for espionage and subversive activities.
The Indian side submitted its pleadings to the ICJ on September 13, 2017. The stance adopted by the Indian authorities was dismissed by Pakistan in its counter-pleadings, which were submitted on December 13 that year.
On May 18, 2017, the ICJ ordered Pakistan to halt the execution of Jadhav until a final decision was made in the proceedings.
