China applauds Pakistan’s efforts to eliminate terrorism

Beijing (Staff Report): Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi’s met on Friday, at State Guest House in Beijing.

According to details, Foreign Ministers of two states discussed regional and international issues.

During a joint press conference, China reaffirmed its continuing and firm support for Pakistan in war against terrorism, saying both the countries are steady anchors for peace in the region.

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi emphasised that China fully backs Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and supports its neighbour in safeguarding its sovereignty.

He said that China respects Pakistan's interests, there is a need to acknowledge Pakistan's efforts in countering terrorism especially to peace in Afghanistan remains in interests of both China and Pakistan. He expressed that China wants improved relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Earlier, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi received Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on his arrival in China in order to held discussions on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest in terms of regional and international strategies.. 

National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua and Pakistan's ambassador in China are also attending the meeting.
