COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,902 new cases, 83 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,190,136 on Wednesday after 3,316 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 440,164 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 406,960 in Punjab, 165,980 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 32,456 in Balochistan, 101,550 in Islamabad 10,084 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 32,942 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 60,537 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.44%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 26,413 with 83 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,071,976 after another 4,387 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, two special cargo flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has transported a new batch of 5.9 million Covid-19 vaccines doses from China to Pakistan as its batch

PIA Country Manager for China Qadir Bux Sangi said that special cargo flights PK-6852 and PK-6853 took off from Beijing for Islamabad on Monday and Tuesday and transported the vaccine doses from Beijing Capital International Airport to Islamabad.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 222.811 million and death toll tops 4,601,131.
