Ex-PTI chief admits article published by foreign journal was AI generated: Solangi

Islamabad (Web Desk): Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi on Tuesday said that former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had admitted that he didn’t write the article published by The Economist and it was an artificial intelligence(    AI)-generated write-up.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the minister said that the current Chairman of PTI did not endorse its anti-establishment and anti-American content but the PTI overseas, some semi-literate anchors and The Economist were jubilant over AI-generated shenanigans.

It is pertinent to mention that PTI founder and former premier Imran Khan on Monday claimed that an essay recently published by The Economist under his name was actually “AI-generated”.

He was talking to journalists allowed to cover proceedings inside the prison after court appearance at the Adiala Jail.

Confirming the contents of the essay, Imran Khan said he did not write the piece himself, rather it was based on points he had dictated, which were put into words through the use of AI.

In the essay attributed to him, the former premier had expressed apprehensions that the election scheduled for February 8 may not take place at all, adding that even if they do, such polls would be a “disaster and a farce since PTI is being denied its basic right to campaign”.
