Rawalpindi (Web Desk) Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and discussed matters of mutual interests and defence cooperation, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interests including defence collaboration, progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional security were discussed during the meeting.
“Visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region. He reiterated that China shall continue to support Pakistan as a strategic partner,” the military’s media wing said.
Director General (DG) ISI Lt General Faiz Hameed was also present during the meeting, the ISPR statement said.
