PM says CDA auction results a vote of confidence in Pakistan's economic future

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the result of an auction for plots by the Capital Development Authority reflects people’s confidence in the future of the country’s economy.

“CDA's biggest plots' auction results in highest ever return for CDA - Rs 11.28 bn. This highlights 2 imp facts: One, it is a vote of confidence in future of Pakistan's economy; two, it reveals how much money has been lost in the past because of non-transparent, corrupt practices,” PM imran said in a tweet.

The auction has been called the most profitable in CDA’s history, even though real estate has been in a tailspin over the last few months due to the country’s economic condition and a government drive against tax evaders.

CDA spokesperson said record returns for the public sector were “highly encouraging for us.”
