PM Kakar lays floral wreath at martyrs' monument in Gilgit

Gilgit (Web Desk): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Tuesday laid floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Gilgit and offered fateha.

A contingent of GB Scouts presented guard of honour to the prime minister.

During his two-day visit, PM Kakar will hold meetings with the Governor and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Radio Pakistan reported.

The caretaker premier will also meet the political leadership of Gilgit and Hunza and local notables.

Meanwhile, the caretaker prime minister was briefed by Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Mohyuddin Ahmen Wani on various matters.

Later, he visited an exhibition of science models by students of local schools and evinced a keen interest in the innovative models made by the students and interacted with them.

The students presented various models depicting power generation from hydel and solar sources to mitigate impact of the climate change.

PM Kakar lauded the abilities of the children and said Pakistan had a bright future ahead due to its talented youth. He appreciated the knowledge of young girls and boys on environmental issues.
