World Bank approves $200 million aid for Pakistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): The World Bank (WB) Executive Board has accorded approval to provide aid  of $200 million dollars to Pakistan.

According to sources, this aid will be spent in  rehabilitation works in flood-affected areas in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa (KP).

The funds will be spent on water supply, roads in rural areas and agriculture related projects.

The sources added that the assistance will also be spent on improving the capability to counter climate change effects.

It is pertinent to mention that after last year's heavy floods, Pakistan decided to reach out to global lenders including International Monetary Fund (IMF), Asian Development Bank (ADB), WB and others for monetary assistance to deal with the calamity.
